Alas poor me :cry

I've been so excited for months about seeing Hamlet next Tuesday, I've forked out for train fares and hotel, and now DT's off sick.

Oh that's a real bummer V! Are you going to come anyway as you've paid for everything? (It's still got Patrick Stewart in it!)

It's been ages since I last had time for a good wallow on SOB, so this is extremely late, but thanks girls, for the commiserations :loly .

As it turned out, we enjoyed the play very much, even though Hamlet isn't really my cup of tea. David Tennant's understudy was excellent and Patrick Stewart - where the **** are the SOB swooning and fainting smilies when I need one - was in fine VOICE. Luckily we are a family of nerdy Trekkies so we were really excited to see him and practically forgot about the missing DT.

In fact we agreed that it is so easy to imagine him as Hamlet , all enthusiastic and running about like the Doctor does, that there was no need to actually watch him at all! (ducks to avoid objects thrown by DT fans- but I like him too :dunno ...)

Afterwards, we waited at the stage door, among just a handful of people, and got autographs from most of the cast, some of them very sweet and surprised to be asked. The great Captain Picard was polite and modest. He signed a couple of programmes, let me take a photo and was gone, walking off alone down the side street just like an ordinary bloke. We were most impressed.
