Can I come in?

Postby BizzyB on Tue Jun 24, 2008 9:32 pm

Hello. I know I've been away far too long. :( But I come with offerings:

And this one in case I forget how to behave:

And this one is just neat:

I should be doing some work prep, but I think I'll poke around a bit and see how everyone is doing...

Well... hmm... I have a new job teaching. That is the biggest change I guess. It's great fun, plus I don't dread going to work anymore, I work less hours and I bring home near the same amount of income. :teeth Also, I've been doing some website work (which should be up soon) and some design work with one of my teacher friends. We're hoping it will take off so we can go into business for ourselves. Not that I want to stop teaching, but it would be great to be able to do both. :hyper

Let's see... what else... uhhhh... not sure what else... so I guess this is all for the moment. Maybe after some :coffee I'll be able to think better. :teeth

It's good to "see" all of you! :kiss

PLEASE DO! LOL we don't want any "accidents"...

Comicforce wrote:Actually can I come over and work with you instead? Or maybe both :D

Yes, definitely. It sounds like I'm gonna need some help! I just found out we'll be losing a teacher in a few months, and I'm in line to take his spot. :help I think they're trying to make me a "career teacher". That means I'll have to step up and get a better degree. :book Anyone know how I can get an MFA in 6 months?!?!? :doh

Also, I have a logo design for a new client that you might be able to help with, if you are interested and have time...? He's a young guy who is starting a clothing line. He has a logo someone designed for him, but it needs some help. :teeth

Ok, I'm off for some quality time with the Lego version of Indiana Jones...

:kiss

Ahaha.. Lego Indy... He's pretty big in this house too, in fact as I type his music is blaring out of the speakers on the TV in the other room! :doh

I'd love to have a look at this logo, starting a clothes line? I have to do that too... only mine is more mundane, and it involves hanging clothes out to dry! Although looking at the colour of our sky today, I think it'll be indoor drying..

Funnily enough I've been watching a series called "teachers" here on Virgin... it's very funny, but I somehow can't see you there.. maybe it's cos you're in LA... :D

Now I have to go and put some clothes on and satisfy my cat's demands before work! See you later.. :wave

I'd tell you if I'd know what an MFA was to begin with. LOL!

LilDucks - Hellllloooooooooo! :wave Do I perhaps know you from before by another name?

Row - How are the Lego Indy adventures coming? LOL Did you know that there are hidden Star Wars characters in the game? Those Lego game designer people are pretty funny and a little cheeky. Makes for some entertaining games though. :teeth I haven't heard of a show called "Teachers" so we probably haven't ripped off the idea and made and American version yet. :-X *insert hand-over-mouth smiley* Is it a comedy? A tragedy? Film noir? No, probably not that last one...

Lizzie - *hugs* HI! Good to "see" you!!! An MFA is a primarily American term for a type of college/university degree. The letters stand for Master of Fine Arts. There are several other types depending on your course of study. It's also considered a postgraduate degree (with a Bachelor's degree being the graduate degree.) I currently have a Bachelor of Arts degree, or BA for short. More info here: Masters Degree and here: Bachelor's Degree Are you taking notes? LOL :stressed Basically your University degrees/diplomas are similar, we just name them differently. Seems very American to "borrow" concepts from elsewhere and rename them. Heh. :-X

Soooo, the teacher who is leaving in about six months asked me to take over his class one night a week while he finishes some preparatory things for his upcoming new position. I naturally accepted since it will be his current position I'll be filling when he leaves. He's getting a big fat promotion with another school... (where I hope he finds a little corner for me to move into once he's settled.) But in the mean time, I have to figure out how to teach two classes at the same time. LOL Luckily our classrooms are next door to each other so I can get back and forth quickly. Or I need a clone...

Ok, off to play Lego Indy until I fall asleep with the PSP in my hand. (I just hope I don't wake up with a triangle, square, X and circle marks indented on my face where I fell asleep on the controller pad.) :doh

Luv to you all :kiss

Ollie says. "yeah I know.." :dunno :D

A comedy most definately, it makes me laugh so I enjoy it, they are currently showing it on Virgin so I can see it whenever I like..

I hope you don't wake up covered in x's and y's or whatevers too.. :D
