Loads of us at work went skating on Lodge Pond in the lunch break at the Forestry Commission. (Somebody had a joblot of army boots with skates attached that he brought in). When I told T he "forbade" me to do it again so you can guess what I did the next day! Nothing to beat skating outside with that hiss and crack of the ice.
Frensham Pond is frozen, I went this afternoon to take some pix.

Lovely photo Sue. And actually I am getting old.. but keep quiet about it, I am sure there is someone somewhere who doesn't know yet!

Yes I do remember having to dig my car out of a snow drift in the 80's.... although if I keep saying things like that people might guess I suppose! LOL..
We've driven to Kenilworth today, as you do, so that we could take Ollie to the Dore Centre. He had his follow up assessment after we went last August! He is doing OK.. they say.. and I have an email address where I can email the lady who saw him today, which is good. Ollie was VERY anti-going, but says he enjoyed it.. what can you do with kids?!

the trip was very cold, specially in our little car, that takes about three months to warm up.. but it did it eventually after 2.5 hours... in time for it to cool down again for the return journey...
It's back to school for Ollie tomorrow, which he is delighted about, as I imagine you can guess... but actually he isn't too upset, I think he is missing his friends by now.. Also he has a new classroom (built since the summer) to go into.. so he has stuff he wants to go for.
Anyway nothing much else to report from Woking, other than Andy attempting to burn the kitchen down the other night! I heard him go into the kitchen after dinner, swear.. and then there was banging.. I ran out to find he'd left the plastic collander on top of the STILL lit gas!! We had smoke, flames, and dripping hot plastic everywhere!!! Fortunately nothing too much damaged after I threw a wet tea towel over it.. he was standing there panicking!

Except the loss of one pan, and one collander... it could have been SO much worse...
Stay warm folks...
