Hiya D! I'm a Rufus Wainwright virgin, but this sounds interesting and very close to home- his opera is being premiered at the Manchester Festival.

Thanks (the link would not open though...).

You shall stay a virgin, V, cause he is just SO gay, ROTF...

I'd take him home anytime anyway...

Go to see him if you can - he is a great musician, liberal and amusing.

Hey, something ate my post last night!

What I reported was that I'm probably going to take the new job. I exchanged e-mails with the head of staff and I would earn myself 100 euros more, have about 10 more days off of work and it would only be about half an hour by car from home.

I only don't know yet whether or not I'm going to really quit my current job or simply take a year's leave without payment so I can assure myself that the people I'd work with are alright.

So I've finally managed to escape the bloody hell hole. I dare to say:
:yay

Hello everybody, remember me??
My pc had to be rebuilt after a nasty trojan ate IE and generally buggered everything up. I lost the link for SOB and couldn't find it on Google but here I am now!

Congrats to Lizzie on new job and I look forward to seeing Lise, Row and Ann next Saturday.

Thanks, girls. :dancey

Current work doesn't know yet though but I've asked Brussels to put me on hold for a year. I won't be paid and I'll be put on 'non-active' for one year during which I'm allowed to work elsewhere as long as it's compatible with our function within society, bla bla bla. As they enjoy shifting people around when you least expect it and tell you first thing in the morning when you've just returned from your holiday and by doing so ruining the glorious effects of said holiday, they can now experience something of the same kind. Brussels already told me in an unofficial e-mail that it should be alright so when the new year begins, I'll also begin at a new job!! :dancey

I'm going to use those ten extra days to do fun things such as practicing or shopping or just reading a book...

Today, I've been bloody cold again. We had to go play at a christmas market but the temperature as you would experience it was -10° celsius! So I put on a sleeveless t-shirt, two long sleeved t-shirts, my band shirt, our waistcoat and a sweater. I also wore a scarf and had a hand warming device with me. LOL! At first it was rather bad but after a while, we started to sound better. Perhaps the gin had something to do with it. LOL! Once I came home and changed into normal clothes though, I started to shiver so I crawled under a blanket and slept for a good half hour. We've another performance tomorrow there but it wouldn't be so cold anymore.

Does anyone here uses facebook? Is it something like livejournal or not quite?

Ditto, WB Sue :cheer

Lizzie, Facebook is a bit like Livejournal but has more facilities for photos & personal info etc. It is extremely popular over here but has also caused a lot of contraversy and some people have lost their jobs because their bosses have seen them put inappropriate comments/photos on facebook

If anyone wants to see a good film I can recommend The Changeling with Angelina Jolie. Very thought provoking.

What time is everyone meeting up on Saturday etc? We need the board mummy to tell us what time she wants us :thumb

She's been very bad... sorry! :mod

She has made a post in the SOB PARTY thread above.. so I won't repeat myself here...

Sorry that I have been absent.. not been very well lately... I don't want to make a song and dance of it, but I've been prescribed antidepressants by my doctor, and I am feeling a bit better now... starting to feel a bit more like my old self again.. so fingers crossed... also had a snotty cold - still have - and it just won't go.. Still in my horrid job, but it's easier at the moment as the work load has eased off for the Christmas slump... but I expect it to get back up again next year.. despite all the predictions of doom and gloom in the press on house prices etc. Still one can hope! LOL! :D

CONGRATULATIONS LIZZIE!!! Well done you! I bet that's a weight off your mind... so happy for you.. :yay

I may hear in the near year about that job I got - and then didn't - earlier this year.. fingers crossed.. although I am not certain, given their strangeness that I really want it! Bit worrying time to be leaving jobs anyway... Still lets get Christmas out the way and see how we go..

Hope you're all well, and again very sorry I've been absent.. Mummie still loves you... :grin :choc and chocolate... of course.

See you (some of you) on Saturday! :hooray

With only four days left to work this year, I have taken quite a risk and haven't told my bosses about my leaving yet. If I would've done it, they would've already been ignoring and blackmailing me some way or other and I won't give them that pleasure.

With our government about to break down and the resignation of our secretary of justice, I can only hope that everything will get sorted out in time though. I haven't signed anything at my new job yet... There's a slight sense of panic rising up but I'm sure it will all get sorted out in time. Otherwise, I won't have any salary in January... LOL!

Hey Lizzie!

Thanks so much for the card!

(pity you did not write your address on the back *hint, hint*). :dancey

We celebrated Hanukkah holiday, not Christmas, but it's OK to get ANY kind of card... :bighug

I was lazy this year and did not send any, many apologies to all the lovely ladies here...
