Picnic?

Where old threads go to die

Postby Smitten on Sun Jun 29, 2008 6:48 am

Ok then ladies. Shall we set a date then.

I propose Friday 8th August.

I notice there's a children's event there on the 8th which should hopefully appeal to Oliver, Lois & Finlay if they are coming:

04 Aug 2008 - 08 Aug 2008
Dragon's Song : Children's Entertainment
Richmond Park (Petersham Playground)

Traditional storytelling combining physical theatre, fooling and musical instruments.

Free

Now all we have to to is to decide who's going to bring what in the way of picnic goodies.
I will volunteer to make an assortment of sandwiches and a quiche :teeth

Sounds good. If we're not in France then, I'll bring the kids along.

I can bring/make an assortment of cakes.

What's left? Drinks? Salady things?

I can bring some wine or Pimms or both for us ladies, and some coke/lemonade for the kids.. And if the weather is hot, probably for us too! :D

OK and what time are we meeting? Lunchtimeish I suppose, but someone suggest a time... :D

I'm going to throw a spanner in the plan.

I'm not going to be around for the picnic. We're travelling to France on August, 8th and back on 22nd.

Have fun on the picnic girls!

Well I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time in France Ann, perhaps we can schedule the picnic for another day?

Yeah me too... I think Oliver would be happier if Lois and Finlay come, otherwise he is going to be very bored, and a bored ten year old is scary.. let me tell you! (personally I think he is already a teenager, and nobody has told me!)..

So when CAN you do it Ann? When can we ALL do it?

OK well if it's a week day, then it will have to be an afternoon after 1pm :( Sorry, but I am back at work that week... Unfortunately I only have one more week off this year, and it HAS to be the week commencing 18th August as that is the only time the bosses can get cover for me... because they went and made people redundant. So it has to be that week (pisses me off, but what can you do?).

So if nobody can do a weekend, then maybe go without me? Sorry I really want to go, but really can't go mid-week. Unless, as I said it's an afternoon picnic, which I guess will be a bit lame.. and I wouldn't be able to get there until at least 3-4 ish I wouldn't think, dammit..

Additional: I have ONE more day this year I could take, to possibly go on this picnic, if a weekday is the only option... but it really can't be a Friday! That's my advert day, and nobody else can do it except me.. so I have to be there on the Friday... it's a real bummer...

Anyway let me know and I'll see if I can take the last day of my holiday off to go on the picnic.

Well I'm alright for most weekends (I only work every third Saturday from 12-1)
I'll leave it up to Ann and Lise.

If the weekend is the only time, then I guess it won't be too much of a problem for me.

Let me know if either the Saturday or the Sunday works best for everyone.
