Picnic?

Postby Smitten on Wed Jun 11, 2008 8:29 am

Well it's almost like summer outside and it's made me feel all, well, summery :teeth

Who fancies a SOB outing in the form of a picnic? We could all bring various food items and paper plates and spend a pleasant afternoon somewhere, nishing, sunbathing, reading etc.

If anyone's interested then the question is when and where. Sometime in July/August makes sense. Kids could be welcome if that suits.
I have some venue suggestions of Kew gardens, Hampton Court Gardens, Hyde Park but if anyone has any other suggestions please let me know.

Am now trying to think of what the Famous Five always had on their picnics but can only remember Ginger Beer and I'm not bringing any of that!

Well, would people prefer a Saturday afternoon, Sunday afternoon or a weekday afternoon?

Don't want to have to lug picnic stuff on a train though, so pref somewhere where we could park. I read the other day that Richmond Park was top of a list of favourite picnic sites. There's parking all round plus lots of different areas like the Ponds and Plantation.

Sounds good. We'll need to decide which gate to meet at.

I'm fairly flexible on dates. We'll probably be going on holiday towards the end of August.

Obviously, if it is a week day, I'll have to bring the kids with me.

France or Spain, it depends what we can get as a last minute deal.

My kids don't finish school until 23rd July, so any of the dates after that would be fine with me. I can work my schedule around whatever suits everyone else.

Well, if I would've had any of those weekends off, I would've loved to join you girls but I'm afraid I am booked for all of those weekends. In fact, with the exception of two weekends, I don't have a free weekend from the coming one up until October. :stressed
